DR. SANDI ROSELY:

Cheers to all from Dr. Sandi Rosely!
For those of you who do not already know, I am the founder of Avonlea Animal Hospital, Brittany Glen Veterinary Services and Hollybank Animal Hospital. It has been my pleasure to provide you and your four legged companions with veterinary care since graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Ontario in 1996. As corny as this may sound, I feel blessed that I am able to go to work each day doing what I love, knowing that I am making a difference in a pet's life.
My inspiration to become a veterinarian began when I was 8 years old. Through much dedication and devotion, I was able to save two wild baby birds and release them back to nature. I continue to feel the same happiness and sense of accomplishment that I felt when those birds flew away, when I help you help your pets.
While I spend much of my time in the clinics I do find the time to balance out my life with my family. Don is my wonderful husband. If he isn't fixing the computers at the clinic or renovating our home, he can be found whizzing our boys, Bradley 12 and Russell 10, to and from the hockey arena. Having many pets at home has helped to teach the boys about the commitment needed to care for pets as well as to understand how much love we can feel for and receive from a pet. Hecter is our loving and very needy 14 year old pit-bull who sadly passed quietly in my loving arms on Sunday. He will be deeply missed by our family and friends. Celine and Zuuk are our 2 and 1 year old cats that love to play and hunt when they are not lounging around the house. Lightning is our 8 year old Bearded Dragon who enjoys his baths and meal worms. The fish help to entertain Zuuk and Celine when they are not pestering each other.
Life is certainly a whirlwind, but I wouldn't change a thing!

DR. LINDA JOHNSON:

Hello, I'm Dr Johnson.
I graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2006. After a year of mixed practice in rural Ontario (seeing everything from cats to cows and horses, even the occasional alpaca!), I decided to move back to town and that meant returning to small animal practice. I do miss the cows, but I don't miss 2 AM calls on freezing winter nights!
I have an interest in small animal ultrasound as well as geriatric medicine. I find my work most rewarding when I am solving problems - from small things like figuring out the easiest way a client can administer medication to their cat, to big things like finally reaching an elusive diagnosis or seeing a sick patient recover under my care. I enjoy educating my clients about their pet's health concerns so that they are better able to help their pets.
I currently have a Golden Retriever named Mickey and 3 cats: Kylie, Lucky and Kitten. Nothing can match the unconditional love of a pet, but they are a lot of work and a big responsibility. I believe we have an obligation to pay back that love by putting their needs first and ensuring we have the means to support their physical and mental health.
I am an avid gardener and hockey player. In my time off, I am often at the family cottage, reading, or working on yet another home improvement project.
I'll see you and your pet soon in the exam room!

DR. SARA BUTT:

Hello everybody! My name is Sara Butt and I am a veterinarian here at Avonlea Animal Hospital. As a child growing up in rural Newfoundland, I always had a love for animals. It was my love of animals that made me want to become a veterinarian. My dream became a reality in 2011 when I graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. I feel very lucky to have a career that I love and to be able to offer excellent medical care to all of your pets! When I am not at work, you can find me on the volleyball court or at home with my two furry kids, Owen; a Golden Retriever who never stops smiling & Sam; an orange tabby who never stops looking for an opportunity to find another meal.

MICHELLE:

Good day all, welcome to our website.
I'm Michelle, the Veterinary Technician at Avonlea Animal Hospital. I've been working at this location since the first day we opened in 2000, and have been in the veterinary industry for 21 years - loving every minute of it. Many of the clients do not see me very often as I'm usually behind the scenes: taking care of our hospitalized patients as well as drawing blood, taking x-rays, placing IV catheters, performing dental scaling and polishing, assisting the doctors with surgery and anaesthesia, and let's not forget, performing (some pets' worst fear) the dreaded nail trim!
I have 3 pets that rule my house: the first is a 10 year old sedentary bearded dragon "Cecil", the second is the go, go, go 5 year old Boston terrier "Diesel", and last but not least, my quiet Betta fish, "Milton".
Have fun touring our website; I hope you find it informative. Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions.

TARA:

Hello there! I'm Tara, one of the Animal Care Technicians here at Hollybank Animal Hospital. I have been in the veterinary industry for 10 years, and I love every part of it. Some of my duties include: placing I.V. catheters, taking blood, preparing your pet for surgery, performing dental cleanings, taking x-rays and, most importantly, ensuring that your pet is comfortable and well cared for during their stay with us.
When I am not here caring for your 4 legged friend, I am spending time with my 3 dogs: "Ricky" my 10 year old and "Frankie" my 5 year old Jack Russell poodles and "Ace" my 4 year old trouble-seeking Doberman. I will soon be taking some time off as I am expecting my first baby in November, but I will be back to doing what I love next year.

JONI:

Hi, welcome to our website!
Let me introduce myself: my name is Joni.
I have been a proud member of the team here at Avonlea, Brittany Glen and Hollybank for quite a few years now.
Continuing to learn and develop my skills is something I have the opportunity to enjoy everyday. I am certified in small animal medical emergencies and small animal behaviour, and I intend on pursuing certification in dentistry and anaesthesia.
With the knowledge and experience my co-workers possess, I feel very lucky to be part of such a phenomenal team of people, who inspire and teach.
The human animal bond seems to be encoded in our DNA in this day and age; our veterinarians and staff are dedicated to maximizing the potential of the relationship between you and your pet, so you can both live healthy, happy lives.
My two dogs are Lola, the black lab, and Bear, the Australian shepherd. Our favourite things to do together are going for long walks, and running in the park.
I hope you found the website helpful and informative.
Take Care.

JAIME:

Hi my name is Jaime and you can usually find me working reception at one
of the clinics. I have been working here since 2009, and I
enjoy having the opportunity to greet all of the different pets (and
people!) that come to see us. I love coming to work every day, and I am
learning new things all the time. Outside of the clinic I spend my time
trying to keep up with my new kitten, Cleo.

JAMIE:

Hello,
My name is Jamie and I have been a member of Avonlea, Brittany Glen, and Hollybank since 2009. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and I am so glad to share that same passion every day with my wonderful coworkers and all of you! I look forward to coming into work every day to greet you and your furry family members, while also assisting in their care. I have never had such an interesting and fulfilling job, and I am very eager to continue learning and building my skills each day.
When I am not at work, you can find me at home snuggling or playing with my 3 dogs. I currently have 2 dachshunds and a great dane that I absolutely adore and who own me!

ERICA:

Hi there,
I am Erica, one of the Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) at Hollybank Animal Hospital. During my training at Sheridan College, I developed special skills which enable me to care for your furry friend during their stay in the hospital. These skills include things like blood collection and intravenous catheter placement, induction and monitoring of your friend while under general anaesthesia, assisting with surgical procedures, taking radiographs and performing general health checks. Working as a veterinary technician at Hollybank is very rewarding because I am able to help pets in all aspects of their health, including general wellness and when sick. At home, I have a beagle mix named Lexus who I rescued as a puppy from the Mississauga Humane Society. She is full of energy and love, and she is tons of fun to be with! I also have two cats, Sleeman and Zoobee, who are both super playful and affectionate! They are constantly tormented by my 5 gerbils’ endless activity. My boyfriend, Myles and I, love the outdoors and we enjoy hiking, and camping with Lexus when we have time to get away. Feel free to ask me any questions about your pets stay while in the hospital. See you soon!

RYLEY:

Hey ... I'm Ryley.
I am a student at Meadowvale Secondary School and will be starting grade 11 in September 2011. I started out volunteering and now work part-time in the back at Avonlea Animal Hospital. I will be doing my co-op course at the hospital as well.
For as long as I can remember, I knew that I wanted to become a veterinarian, and having two pets of my own that have had some health issues, has really confirmed this for me. My 'best bud' and the boss of my house is Buddy, a domestic short haired cat. In January 2011, Tori, a Bichon-Pekingese mix, joined our family. She has had some health issues in the short time that we have had her but I'm glad to say that due to the TLC that she has received from everyone at Avonlea, she is now back to her crazy self.

ALEXA:

Hello, My name is Alexa and I'm a new addition to the Brittany Glen, Avonlea & Hollybank Animal Hospital Team!
When I'm not taking care of my four-legged feline child, Hunter, you can find me at the reception desk or assisting the vets in the clinic.
I have always had a passion for caring for animals, and taking a high school co-op placement helped me steer my career towards one day becoming a veterinary technician.
I look forward to meeting you and some new fuzzy friends :)

DIGIT:

Hello two-legged people! My name is Digit, and I'm the permanent resident and "boss" at Avonlea Animal Hospital.
A Good Samaritan, who found me injured, brought me to the clinic for assistance back in 2003. Because of my injuries, which required prolonged care, and my sweet personality (except of course if you want to give me some medication or cut my nails), Dr Sandi decided I would be the purrrfect clinic guardian.
My duties include: lounging at the front desk or in the window, teasing all the furry animals that come into the clinic, and bugging every staff member to FEED ME. At this time, the only pet I have is my furry mouse (usually missing the tail).
